Unidentified Bird

Can someone tell me what kind of bird this is? I've consulted my Birds of Oregon book and can't find a listing for anything like it. This city bird decided to cool its feet.

Summer Squash in May

The first zucchini of the season arrayed beautifully at a local farm stand. Can beans be far off?

Grazing

A pony named Juanita grazes at the Deck Family Farm in Junction City, OR this Memorial Day. Not technically a Eugene photo, but a photo snapped within 25 miles of Eugene. Close enough.

Morning Downtown

Willamette Street looking South. There was more traffic and activity in this area than this photo suggests. I guess timing is everything.

A Splash of Blue

These brilliant blue flowers turned my attention from food shopping this morning. This photo was snapped at the Saturday Farmer's Market at approximately 9:15 a.m.

This photo of some children enjoying the music of local musician Mark Ross was snapped by my friend Kate on her cell phone.

Slow and Easy Spring Evening

This photo, of a section of Amazon Creek, was snapped last night during my walk to the water to peek at the newest duckling I'd spied earlier in the day.

Abuzz

A Honey Bee hard at work in my herb garden. There is something calming and satisfying in the hum of bees.

Clover Patch Bumble Bee

As you can see, there are far more briary weeds in my clover patch than there are delicate clover. That doesn't seem to phase the industrius Bumble and Honey Bees who have been a constant presence since the the first few flowers appeared. This photo was snapped Saturday afternoon during a brief break in the clouds overhead.

Biblioteca Publica

This photo of the Eugene Public Library was snapped at about 9:45 a.m. on our way to the farmers' market. The library wasn't yet open and there were easily 30 people milling about the coffee shop and benches, waiting to gain entrance.

I had hoped to snap a bunch of nice photos today but I'm not in the zone (and it's an overcast day).

Spring Ducklings

Hello and welcome to my other blog. If my profile information is a bit confusing that's because it's for my other blog: http://localisbetter.blogspot.com. I'm technologically challenged and haven't figured out how to fix this issue (or even if it's possible).

I snapped this photo about a week ago just a few blocks from my house in W. Eugene. This nesting spot is just a few feet from the Fern Ridge bike path and I've had the delight of watching these babies increase in size and agility whilst making my daily bike commute over the last few weeks. A very protective mama sits just outside the frame.
